We’ve made the improvement of Maori health across the Southern District a priority by ensuring that Māori have timely access to appropriate, responsive and effective health care.

We formed the Māori Health Directorate to drive the commitment to providing care and support that is both accessible and culturally acceptable to Māori. Our teams work alongside Specialist Services to ensure a successful transition is achieved for Māori returning home from hospital care or into community care services.
