We looked to more than 3,500 of our people and community members to develop our values because we wanted them to represent us fully. Our values highlight what we feel is important when it comes to working and communicating with others – whether it be patients, whānau, colleagues, providers or other districts.

Our Values.

It’s as important to us as it will be to you, that ongoing education and research are part of the intrinsic culture of our stand out Southern health system. As a teaching hospital, our long-held partnerships with the University of Otago, Otago Polytechnic and Southern Institute of Technology enable us to learn with and from the best.

Education Partners

As you'll know, the size of a hospital matters when it comes to choosing where you’ll take your next (or first) step in your career. Our hospitals are the perfect size to offer you the opportunity for hands-on, specialist-led experience, with plenty of space for you to be able to find your fit. The location of our hospitals also means that we’re able to offer the stand-out lifestyle opportunities on our doorstep here in Southland that are often missing from most large hospitals.

Our Facilities

We understand that when you make a move to Southern New Zealand, you may not be alone – so choosing somewhere where your family and children will be able to fit in and have a stand-out education is equally important.

Luckily for you, there are a range of stand-out schools in our region, from early childhood education facilities, to High Schools and Universities.

Schooling and Tertiary Study

We're giving it all we got, are you?

No matter where you currently are in the world, if you’ve a passion for providing the highest standard of care – and the professional prowess to make it a reality, we think our part of the world is the place for you.
