About the Role
Are you an experienced Speech Language Therapist ready to embrace a dynamic, patient-centred role? Join our Southland team and lead the way in providing innovative speech-language therapy, both in person and through telehealth solutions.
In this role, you will deliver a wide range of services using the PACE (Patient Anywhere, Clinician Elsewhere) model of care. Whether supporting patients recovering from stroke, managing dysphagia, addressing neurodegenerative conditions (including Parkinson’s and motor neuron disease), or providing video-fluoroscopy assessments, you’ll make a profound difference.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting safe, effective patient assessments and interventions, both in person and via telehealth.
- Applying advanced skills to identify and manage complex cases effectively.
- Delivering leadership in the development of clinical telehealth capabilities within the team.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (including dietitians, physiotherapists, and medical specialists) to deliver comprehensive, patient-centred care.
- Providing mentorship to team members and contributing to clinical education.

About You
We are seeking an experienced, adaptable, and tech-savvy Speech Language Therapist who thrives on professional growth and leadership.
You will have:
- A recognised qualification in Speech-language Therapy
- Current membership with the New Zealand Speech Language Therapy Association.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience, with demonstrated expertise across a range of settings.
- Proficiency in technology, with experience in telehealth service delivery.
- Advanced knowledge of dysphagia management and experience with Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies (VFSS) (preferred).
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and clinically accurate information.
- A commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity in healthcare delivery.
