Salary Band -  $30.00 - $32.00 per hour

 

  • Permanent full time position (40 hours per week)
  • Supporting our security team in keeping the hospital, its staff, patients, and visitors safe

 

This is a healthcare role, and the safety, wellbeing and security of our patients and staff is our top priority.

Our security services play a key role in keeping people and we have an opportunity for an experienced security professional to step into the role of Security Supervisor for Southland.

 

Mō te tūranga | About the role

Our security team are the people that keep the hospital safe.

Our primay role is 'Healthcare' - Looking after our patients.

Secondary to that is 'Security' - Keeping everyone safe.

As the Supervisor, you'll be responsible for a team of people that look after our patients, our visitors, and our staff.   You'll carry out routine patrols, write reports, diffuse tense situations, and mentor the team.   You'll be a peacemaker, a confident

communicator and display kindness and helpfulness in everything you do.   You will need to be non-judgemental, and have a good level of physical fitness.

 

Mōu ake | About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • National Certificate in Secruity Level 3
  • Great communication skills and the ability to de-esculate volatile situations
  • Previous supervisory experience would be a plus, but isn't a deal breaker
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment would be a big help
  • Most importantly, a positive can-do attitude

Utu whānui | Salary range

This role belongs to the Etū Multi Collective Employer Agreement 15 December 2021 to 31 May 2024, Supervisor Scale and falls between Grade 3 ($31.44 p/h) and Grade 4 ($32.68 p/h).
