Mō te tūranga | About the role

  • Apply evidenced based and best practice principles to underpin social work practice.
  • Undertake appropriate social work assessments (including psychosocial and risk assessments) of the consumers and their family’s needs and situation.
  • Exhibit effective assessment and counselling skills and be clinically competent.
  • Understands the impact of family harm upon consumers and their family especially children and to work to reduce the risk of further harm.
  • Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and liaise appropriately with relevant health care professionals, managers, and organisations.

  • Be self-motivated, innovative and an effective problem solver
  • Empathetic with patients and their families/whanau.
  • Be able to work autonomously as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Have commitment to maintain social work standards and ethics.
  • Hold a current APC and Registration with the Social Workers Board of New Zealand.

 

The successful applicant must hold a full and clean NZ driver’s license.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($59,035 p.a) and Step 8 ($85,992 p.a pro rata) of the Degree-Based Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
