Service Administrator – Medicine and Emergency Department

Southland Hospital, Permanent Part-time 0.5 FTE

Salary Band $70,970 - $73,941 p.a. pro rata

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and confident administrator to support the Service Manager and team on a part-time (0.5FTE). This is a role that will provide the opportunity to demonstrate your outstanding coordination and communication skills, allow you to work autonomously and offer ample opportunities to use your initiative. 

Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting with quality assurance related administration, including drafting of related communications, processing timesheets, booking meetings, taking minutes, organising agendas and travel, raising purchase orders, keeping records and other general internal administrative processes that support our clinical teams.

No matter the task, it is imperative that deadlines are not only met but strived to be exceeded.

This is a demanding and varied role encompassing a large range of administration tasks and interfacing with a large multidisciplinary team.

About you

This role demands a switched on, highly motivated and organised person with a strong ability to prioritise competing demands in an efficient manner, whilst continually learning in an ever-changing environment.

Ideally you will also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a busy administrator role
  • Be a strong team player, with the ability and desire to work cohesively across the team
  • Time management skills – having a knack for multi-tasking
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both in written and verbal form
  • Competent and confident using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A strong eye for detail
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision
  • Respectful and professional nature handling confidential information 
  • Have a natural flair for building and fostering positive relationships
  • Health sector background desirable, but not essential
