Registered Nurse - Mental Health for Older People (Ward 6C)

Salary Band - $73,00 to $103,630 pa pro-rata + Kiwisaver

Mō te tūranga | About the role 

  • Ward 6C is a 12-bed acute assessment and treatment unit for people aged over 65 years with an array of mental health (along with some physical health) needs,  
  • Safe and supervised environment assessing patients’ needs while providing treatment during their admission.
  • Mornings – 7.00am to 3.30pm, Afternoons – 2.30pm to 11.00pm, Nights – 10.45pm to 7.15am
  • Rosters are rotating and generated every 4 weeks and usually cover 4 weeks.

 

Mōu ake | About you

  • You will be a Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate. 
  • Have a Mental health scope of practice to allow for working within this sector - more information can be found at http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz/Nurses/Scopes-of-practice
  • You will be dynamic, with a strong knowledge base being essential to meeting the challenge of caring for older people in a mental health environment.
  • Previous mental health experience is highly regarded.
  • We are seeking someone who is warm, empathetic, responsive and highly attuned to the emotions, needs and motivations of older people.
