Registered Nurse – Te Punaka Oraka (Public Health Nursing)

Salary Band – $81,683 - $106,739 p.a. pro-rata + KiwiSaver

 

  • Monday to Friday permanent position
  • Youth focussed, community based role           
  • Part time 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week)

We are looking for an amazing New Zealand Registered Nurse with relevant clinical leadership skills, a background and an interest and passion for well health in youth and their whānau.

 

Mō te tūranga | About the role

Te Punaka Oraka - Public Health Nursing provides a range of Child & Youth and Well Health Services within the community, including schools, preschools, and youth clinics, before school checks, home visiting rural sexual health and contraceptive clinics, and immunisation programs. This role is primarily focused on delivering our youth assessments both in schools and in early childhood centres as part of the youth health strategy.

 

This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Dunedin team. This role may require some travel to cover rural areas.

In order to be successful in this position you will also need to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience and understanding of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi/ Māori health equity and disparities.
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability and passion to work with a diverse range of children, young people and their family’s whānau.
  • Open minded, quality driven, with the ability to work both independently and as a valued member of a supportive, friendly team.
  • Strong computer literacy skills and a full clean driver’s license is essential.
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.

It is a strong advantage to be trauma informed, understand attachment theory, child/ youth development, brain development. Experience working in mental health is also an advantage.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the Te Whatu Ora/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 2 ($81,683 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 7 ($106,739) p.a. pro-rata of the Registered Nurse Salary Scale.
