Ward 9b (Adult Intensive and Acute Care, Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit)

Wakari Hospital, Dunedin

Salary Band - $73,566 to $103,630 pro-rata pa + kiwisaver

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to become part of a group of staff that work as a team, in the adult inpatient mental health service.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

• Work alongside acute patients in a complex environment.
• Deliver safe client focused comprehensive assessment and/or treatment care in a dynamic setting
• Collaborate with expert multi-disciplinary team including;
• A number of very experienced clinicians available to provide support to registered nurses.
• 12 hours shifts standard on a 7 days on per fortnight roster
• Flexible rosters allowing staff to have great downtime without taking leave
• 8 hour shifts available also if preferred   
• Supportive on-going professional development (PDRP or Post-grad)

Mōu ake | About you

• Currently or able to gain registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and have a current APC, with a scope of practice that allows you to work in Mental Health
• Have current eligibility (citizenship, residency or work visa) to live and work in New Zealand
• While prior mental health nursing experience is preferable, those who have a willingness to develop this experience would also be considered.
