Mō te tūranga | About the role

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Southland Radiology Manager is responsible for the operational line management of Medical Imaging Technologists (MITs), Nursing and Administration staff in the Radiology Service at Southland Hospital.  This is a job share position, where non-clinical duties are shared with another Radiology Manager, to allow both to have rostered clinical time each week.

The successful applicant will ensure efficient, effective, and safe services with the resources available.  Working in partnership with the Clinical Leader, and their colleagues, the Southland Radiology Manager(s) have site responsibility for staffing, quality and risk, health and safety, equipment maintenance and other relevant areas in line with the delegated Human Resources and Financial authority. 

The Southland Radiology Manager will work collaboratively with all Radiology staff as well as the wider multi-disciplinary teams throughout the organisation in a way that is consistent with  Te Whatu Ora Southern’s shared vision and values.  This way of working will ultimately benefit all our patients and communities.

Travel is at times required; this will be in line with District wide requirements.

Mōu ake | About you

 

  • Clinical experience in Radiology, will be expected to work in a clinical role, as well as non-clinical Radiology Manager duties
  • Previous leadership/management role
  • Quality management and/or accreditation experience desirable, but not essential
  • Roster writing and management skills
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a supportive and honest manner
  • Proactive self-directed learner
  • Ability to ensure service delivery is achieved within approved business/activity plans and financial budgets

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the Apex Medical Imaging Technologists (MITs)Collective Agreement and falls between Step 13 ($111830p.a) and Step 15 ($118,098 p.a pro rata)
