Depending on experience this role could give you the opportunity to work both in an inpatient and community setting.  You will be working within an experienced team that will support you to grow and feel confident to deliver quality rehabilitation.  

 

Mō te tūranga | About the role

  • This position involves working with a range of patients from various age groups.
  • Gives you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in rehabilitation with medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions such as stroke
  • Gives the opportunity to support teach and upskill students and rotational staff
  • You will be able to perform appropriate and high-quality physiotherapy assessment and treatment to achieve individual rehabilitation goals
  • Work well within an interdisciplinary team and be an active energetic team member willing to take on clinical and quality work
  • Prescribe mobility aids and equipment within the parameters of departmental provision guidelines.

Mōu ake | About you

It goes without saying that you will have an enthusiasm for physiotherapy and working with a social team.

You will also need to demonstrate the following to be successful in this role:

  • Excellent communication skills and a natural ability for building trust with others.
  • Be a registered Physiotherapist with the New Zealand Physiotherapy Board and hold an Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Ideally have at least 3 years’ experience as a qualified physiotherapist
  • Knowledge and experience in rehabilitation or a interest to grow in this area
  • Be reliable and have a drive for learning and sharing new skills.

A full and clean class one driver’s license is essential.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($74,842 p.a) and Step 7 ($107,000 p.a pro rata) of the of the Degree-based Allied, Public Health and Technical Pay Scale.
