 Mō te tūranga | About the role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist with experience in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and rehabilitation clinical practice, or those with a keen interest in developing skills in these areas, to join our Physiotherapy Outpatients team at Dunedin Hospital.

 

In this role, you'll work with a diverse range of age groups and conditions including first presentation ACC injuries, primarily in the outpatient setting. You'll need to demonstrate strong capabilities in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and rehabilitation clinical practice and knowledge, working effectively and autonomously.

 

Patients are referred from Fracture Clinic, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, and other specialist outpatient services, General Practitioners and community Services.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of working with patients to achieve functional and vocational goals, optimizing patient outcomes, and facilitating effective discharge and self-management.

 

Flexibility is essential as this role requires participation in weekend and on-call rosters for acute inpatient services.

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You'll be self-driven to enhance service quality in collaboration with others, alongside a dedicated supportive Physiotherapy team. 

 

The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience in musculoskeletal assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.  Additional experience with routine and complex rheumatology and orthopaedic conditions, pelvic health, and managing persistent pain and chronic pathologies would be an advantage.

 

We value clinicians who can work independently while actively engaging with our supportive team, participating in regular peer reviews and professional development activities. Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in teaching and supporting rotational staff, Allied Health Assistants, and students.

 

You will need to be adaptable and flexible allowing you to work effectively with your clients and within a changing health environment.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 2 ($80,442 p.a) and Step 8 ($107,000 p.a. pro rata) of the Degree-Based Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
