The Pharmacy service provides a full clinical and operational service to Dunedin Hospital. We provide a wide range of clinical services encompassing both generalist and specialist skills so there is no better place to move your career forward. 

 

We’d love to hear from you if you are a qualified Pharmacy Technician or have an interest in starting out in the pharmacy service as a Pharmacy Assistant.

 

We have a wide range of opportunities available which are unique to a hospital setting.  We have a full aseptic production unit you will have the opportunity to become involved with.  If you are PACT qualified, we have opportunities for you to use those skills and we are also looking to develop our technicians to undertake clinical activities to support our pharmacists.  For example these clinical activities could include patient counselling and patient medication history taking.

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • A good communicator and team player.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand.
  • Previous experience with stock management
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Pharmacy Technician, appropriate New Zealand recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification

It is also essential you can pick things up quickly, perform in an accurate and precise manner and work well within a diverse and ever-changing environment.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This Pharmacy Technician role belongs to the APEX Pharmacy Collective Agreement and falls between step 3 ($65,975 ) and step 7 ($80,193) p.a. pro-rata + Kiwisaver and the Pharmacy Assistant role falls between step 1 ($59,842) and step 5 ($72,737) p.a. pro-rata + Kiwisaver
