  • Either Fixed term position until 31 March 2023 or a permanent role for a suitably qualified candidate


Our Pharmacy Department at Dunedin Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic person to join our friendly and supportive team as a Pharmacy Technician on a full-time fixed-term basis. 


Mō te tūranga | About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified pharmacy technician or Pharmacy School Student to join our team to assist in our hospital pharmacy dispensary.  The role will include stock control, ward supply, in and out patient dispensing, as well as non-sterile compounding and assisting in the general day to day running of the dispensary. 

The role will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Mōu ake | About you

If you hold an appropriate New Zealand recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification (level 4 or 5), are a Student studying for a Bachelor of Pharmacy at a New Zealand University or are willing to train then we would love to hear from you.


You will possess strong time management, planning, and organisational skills. Naturally you will be an excellent communicator and strong team player.  We are looking for someone who picks things up quickly, can perform in an accurate and precise manner and works well within a diverse environment.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Appropriate New Zealand recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification (or be studying for a Bachelor of Pharmacy at a New Zealand University or interested to train)
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
