About the Role

We are now taking applications for three fixed-term positions of Intern Pharmacist within Te Whatu Ora Southern, starting January 2026. There are two positions available within the pharmacy department at Dunedin Hospital, and one position available within the pharmacy department at Southland Hospital.

The pharmacy departments within Te Whatu Ora Southern have excellent reputations and are an integral part of the Tertiary Teaching hospital, and overall services provided by us. You will experience all areas of hospital pharmacy during your intern year which will involve significant clinical training (including being responsible for your own ward area under supervision) as well as involvement with medicines information, pharmacy projects and all aspects of our dispensing processes (inpatient, outpatient and limited aseptic experience).

About you

We are looking for people who work well as part of a team, have excellent communication skills, are consistent, accurate and reliable in their work, and enjoy learning new skills. The successful applicants will need to be adaptable to the ever-changing health environment, well presented, capable of self-motivation and time management, and can provide alternative solutions to problems.
