This broad coverage provides a dynamic environment for clinical practice, with a wide variety of cases ranging from complex tertiary care to more routine cases in smaller communities

 

About the role:
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and skilled Paediatric Radiologist to join our dynamic radiology team at Dunedin Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist with a passion for paediatric imaging to work in a collaborative environment with other healthcare professionals in a well-established, fully integrated team.

As a Paediatric Radiologist, you will:

  • Provide expert paediatric radiology services across a wide range of imaging modalities, including X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine.
  • Interpret imaging studies for paediatric patients, from neonates to adolescents.
  • Work closely with paediatricians, neonatologists, surgeons, and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive, family-centred care.
  • Contribute to the training and mentoring of junior medical staff and registrars
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and radiology reviews.
  • Ensure high standards of care, quality control, and safety in imaging procedures for children.
  • Participate in the 1:6 on-call roster to cover acute general paediatrics, and a range of out-patient services covering all modalities across the department.

About You:
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) or equivalent.
  • Significant experience and expertise in paediatric radiology.
  • A strong commitment to high-quality patient care and a compassionate approach to paediatric patients.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • An interest in teaching and mentoring Radiology registrars.
  • A positive, proactive approach to clinical challenges and continuous professional development.

Salary range

This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro rata)
