Salary - $107,000 - $113,000 per annum + Kiwisaver

Mō te tūranga | About the role

 

Rehabilitation services across Dunedin cover a range of areas both inpatient and community.  Each team is a dynamic and evolving interdisciplinary team and the wider occupational therapy team is a supportive innovative  team.  We want to start looking at services across the age range and how we can support staff to expand their neuro rehabilitation  knowledge to  plan and provide best practice rehabilitation to our diverse patients in an inpatient setting or in the patient’s home.

 

We take pride in supporting our staff to grow and we enable ongoing professional development including regular team in-services, staff mentoring and peer review and access to course and conference funding.  We support student education throughout clinical placements. 

You'll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in rehabilitation with medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions including stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI). You will also have the opportunity to support, teach and upskill students and junior staff.  There is also an opportunity to look and service development and innovation

Mōu ake | About you

 

As an experienced occupational therapist, you will have a range of experience that includes working in a rehabilitation setting with patients with stroke, TBI and other neurological conditions. Experience with orthopaedic conditions is also an advantage. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of optimising patient outcomes and facilitating effective discharge planning, using a patient centred and evidence-based approach to goal setting and intervention.

 

In addition you will have enthusiasm and a willingness to commit to our team and patients. You will be expected to be active in service quality initiatives, therefore be proactive, innovative and have a quality driven leadership approach.

For this permanent role covering the service, you will need to be a New Zealand registered occupational therapist with a current annual practising certificate.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 8 ($107,000 p.a) and Step 10 ($113,000 p.a) pro rata) of the Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
