Our Emergency Department would like to invite applications for a LOCUM - Emergency Medicine Consultant for the following period:

  • Saturday 4 March       0800 to 1700 hrs
  • Sunday  5 March        0800 to 1700 hrs
  • Friday 10 March         1600 to 2400 hrs plus on call
  • Saturday 18 March     0800 to 1700 hrs
  • Sunday 19 March        0800 to 1700 hrs
  • Saturday 25 March     Late plus on call
  • Sunday 26 March        Late plus on call
  • Tuesday 28 March      1600 to 2400 hrs plus on call


Mō te tūranga | About the role
Dunedin Hospital provides a full range of tertiary services and the Emergency Department delivers all aspects of Emergency Medicine practice including major trauma reception, fracture management, procedural sedation and paediatric emergency medicine. Close links with the University of Otago and the National Poisons Centre mean the department has a strong and active interest in point-of-care ultrasound, toxicology and simulation. The department is accredited for advanced training by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and sees approximately 47,000 patients per year with a full and varied spectrum of pathology.


Mōu ake | About you
Applicants must have completed their specialist training, and already eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.  You would need to be able to cover at least 3 of the shifts.
