We are seeking applications from suitably experienced psychiatrists to LOCUM with us directly and help us meet our service requirements at Southland Hospital, Southland – The New Zealand We All Dream Of!

Mō te tūranga | About the role
Our Community Mental Health Teams are made up of health professionals who provide a range of specialist mental health services for adults who have been diagnosed with a significant mental illness. Your responsibilities will include assessment and treatment while working collaboratively with the primary health sector. You will have a strong commitment to service user and family / whanau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery as well as having a sound understanding of and commitment to biculturalism.
Mōu ake | About you
As a Consultant Psychiatrist with either Community Mental Health and/or Inpatient Caresetting, you will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team. Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to the position.
You will have a strong commitment to service user and family / whanau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery. You will also have a sound understanding and commitment to biculturalism. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and providing training to students at all levels.
You will be required to participate on an on-call roster providing after hours coverage for the Southland region. Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent is essential, and you must be eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Council. A full driver’s licence is essential for this role.
