Family Advisor - Mental Health Advisory Services Otago
Salary – $72,000 - $86,000 + Kiwisaver

- Permanent, 0.8 FTE (32 hrs per week) opportunity

About the Role
In this role you will provide leadership, strategic direction and advisory services to the Otago MHAID Service in relation to the needs of family members of mental health consumer in the processes of planning, provision and review (or audit) of Mental Health Services.
The provision of information/education to Family/Whanau/Mental Health Services is a focus of the position.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Mental Health Advisory team includes the Family Advisor, Consumer Advisor and the Youth Consumer Advisor. Based at Wakari hospital, you have the opportunity to interface with all of the MHAID services and service partners across the sector. The advisory team also works closely with our advisory team in Southland and share a Lead advisor who represents both teams.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to demonstrate a commitment to the improvement of Southern District Health Board MHAID Service as well as the following:
- Have lived experience as a family member of a consumer of the MHAID Service who has therefore had contact with MHAID Service.
- The ability to develop and maintain a network with other individuals, groups and organisation within Southern District Health Board.
- The ability to set personal goals and respond in a positive way to feedback.
- The ability to communicate effectively with individuals, groups and be able to produce written reports.
- Facilitate meetings.

Salary range
This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 3 ($72,087 p.a) and Step 7 ($86,719 p.a pro rata) of the Non-Degree Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
