Ward 6C is a 12-bed acute assessment and treatment unit for people aged over 65 years with an array of mental health (along with some physical health) needs, located in Dunedin Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills, working alongside patients in a complex environment to meet their identified needs in a multi-disciplinary setting where the emphasis is on the delivery of safe client focused care in an ever-changing dynamic setting. You’ll assess and treat patients with your exceptional nursing skills aiming for the best outcome, as well as communicating regularly with their families.

Whilst ideally we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Enrolled Nurse to join our team, if you are a new graduate with an interest in Mental Health we would welcome your enquiry. It is preferred you have Mental Health experience or a strong interest and willingness to work in this field. You’ll have a range of skills and the ability to work effectively with a large team to a high standard within your scope of practice. 

 

Our ideal candidate will:

  • be positive with great communication skills
  • be able to take direction and work well as part of team
  • have a passion for supporting older people with varying mental and physical health needs.

 

You will also be registered as an Enrolled Nurse with NCNZ (Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice, NCNZ, 2010) and have a current Practicing Certificate.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the Te Whatu Ora/ NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($69,934 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 5 ($83,349) p.a. pro-rata of the Enrolled Nurse Salary Scale.
