About the role

We are looking for an experience Enrolled Nurse who is available on an as and when required basis to help support our team.

Tasks for this District Nursing role include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for providing care to a diverse range of patients in the community
  • Contribute to nursing assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care for health consumers and/or families/whanau. The Registered Nurse maintains overall responsibility for the plan of care.
  • Assist health consumers with nursing care activities, observe changes in health consumers’ conditions and report these to the registered nurse 
  • Undertake other nursing care responsibilities appropriate to their assessed competence
  • Work in partnership with health consumers, families/whanau and multidisciplinary teams

  • Have had some previous experience in a surgical, medical or community setting – this is not essential but is desirable,
  • Be capable of working autonomously,
  • Have a reasonable level of fitness required to cope with the demanding physical requirements of the job.
  • Have a full clean drivers licence – essential.

Salary range

This role belongs to the Te Whatu Ora/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 $69,934 p.a. pro-rata and Step 5 $83,349) p.a. pro-rata of the Enrolled Nurse Salary Scale.
