Our Emergency Department team of nine see to about 39,000 presentations per annum. The team here are rostered on four 10 hour shifts per week (3 clinical and 1 non-clinical at 1.0 FTE) so working with us means a healthy work-life balance not to mention an easy commute. With the allocation of our FTE distribution, on call and availability allowance pattern, you would also be looking at a generous pay package from $270k + dependent on experience.

 

We are accredited for 12 months of advanced training with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine giving you a chance to teach and partner with our registrars, house officers, and nurse specialists. 

 

Facility wise, we have a brand new state of the art SIM facility and a modern open plan design that supports 21 beds. Being a regional referral, teaching and trauma centre for a population of 105,000, our patients come from all over the southern region from Stewart Island to Queenstown.

We hope you are as dedicated and passionate like us about our patients and looking at working with us either on a long term or fixed term basis.  Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration, with the New Zealand Medical Council as an Emergency Medicine Physician.

Utu whānui | Salary range
This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 p.a prorata)
