About the role
The Charge Nurse Manager (Second in Charge) position works collaboratively alongside our Charge Nurse Manager as part of a dual leadership model that has been working successfully within the Te Puna Wai Ora unit for several years.
We have an opportunity for an experienced critical care nurse to step into a senior nursing leadership position.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the unit in collaboration with the Charge Nurse Manager,
- Provide much needed consistency and support to our team.
- Report to the Charge Nurse Manager and be supported by the Associate Charge Nurses,
- Envelope into a key part of the leadership group,
- Empower, support and develop our nursing team towards the provision of top-quality care for our community.
- Collaborate with and ensure the Charge Nurse Manager can fulfil the strategic aspects of their role,
- Ensure our patients and their families are treated with the utmost care.
- Step up and provide cover for the Charge Nurse Manager for periods of leave.
- Challenge yourself in a next step role,
- Monday to Friday and is paid at Grade 4 on the NZNO Senior Nursing scale.

About you
- Senior Registered Nurse with a current NZ APC,
- Significant Critical Care experience,
- Hold relevant post graduate qualifications in Critical Care,
- Sound professional judgement,
- Strong leadership skills with clear commitment to high quality care and the development of the Service.

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the Designated Nurse Pay Scale Grade 5, between $126,124 and $138,057 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
