Mō te tūranga | About the role

We are looking for an experienced theatre nurse with a “can do”, positive attitude to join our Perioperative Service in our operating theatres based in Southland Hospital. Our service presents a busy environment, one that is navigated on a daily basis through a team based model of care, so it is essential you have a kind nature and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing clinical situations. Recent Perioperative nursing experience and sound clinical skills are essential in ensuring the patient journey is a smooth one. To be successful in this role we are looking for nurses:

• With a minimum of two years post registration practice experience in theatre nursing.
• With New Zealand Registration – or the ability to obtain this
• Who can evidence adherence to best practice perioperative standards.
• Who can demonstrate the Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora - Southern values of Kind (Manaakitanga), Open (Pono), Positive (Whaiwhakaaro) and Community (Whanaungatanga)

This role belongs to the Health New Zealand/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 3 ($41.47 per hour) and Step 7 ($51.17 per hour) of the Registered Nurse Salary Scale.
