Booking Administrator –Outpatients

 

  • Full-time (1 FTE), Fixed -term position until 30 June 2023
  • Monday to Friday role with hours worked between 0800 - 1700

Are you an experienced administrator or someone who is adaptable and a quick learner? We have an exciting administration role in Outpatients and are on the lookout for someone to join us in a full-time, fixed term capacity!

 

Mō te tūranga | About the role

 

Our Outpatients Department are a team through and through, and this role plays an essential role in ensuring the successful provision of patient centred care by fostering a welcoming environment for patients right from the get go.

 

Duties involve making appointments (New and Follow Up) into the computer system, preparing referrals to send to Clinicians for triaging, receiving them back and loading these onto waiting lists from where appointments for clinics and associated tests are made. This role is heavily involved with administrative processes for Outpatients, and we’re looking for someone who is ‘on the ball’ when it comes to ensuring that the necessary paperwork is absolutely spot on! The role also involves a significant amount of communication with other pivotal key members, including patients.

You must be a team player with very good communication skills, who can demonstrate flexibility and understands and appreciates the need for attention to detail. You must also be comfortable interacting with a variety of people and attending to issues that arise – usually at the same time! We ask that in your application you demonstrate how your previous work experience in administration and/or customer service roles has honed your ability to prioritise and juggle tasks, within demanding timeframes.

 

Excellent computer skills are essential and database experience using iPM is preferred but full training will be given to the successful applicant to ensure that you are comfortable and confident with our systems.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the PSA South Island Clerical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the National Health Administration Workers Pay Scale, Band 5B between $67,932 and $70,951 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
