Applications are invited for an outgoing and friendly Administration Officer to join our well-established Audiology and ENT team where you’ll support our Audiologists.


About the opportunity

The Dunedin Audiology team are based in a spacious clinic at Wakari Hospital and are a vital part of the ENT service, which is predominately based at Dunedin Hospital.


You will mostly be based at Wakari, but trips down to ENT at Dunedin Hospital will be required at times to provide cover for the ENT administrators, who will likewise, help you or cover you when required.

Audiology also has a significant paediatric caseload and as part of your role the administrator will be a key contact for families who have an ongoing relationship with the department. It is therefore important that you are comfortable interacting with patients both in person and on the phone. You will be dealing with patient information so the ability to be discrete is an absolute requirement.

As part of this role you’ll carry out administrative and reception duties and provide essential support to the Audiologists. Your main duties will include booking outpatient appointments for weekly clinics, ordering supplies, invoicing and ensuring all patients’ medical records are available and prepared correctly. You will also assist the Audiologists with hearing aid funding applications and the supply and repair of children’s hearing aids. It is essential that you are flexible, have a willingness to take responsibility, an eye for accuracy, confidence using computer systems and the ability to trouble-shoot solutions.

Experience in a similar role is essential.  The salary range for this position is from $52,080 to $59,759 (pro-rata)
