This is a very exciting opportunity for an exceptional senior nurse looking to take the next step in their nursing career. Our Gastroenterology service based in Dunedin Hospital is inviting applications from staff wishing to join us as Associate Charge Nurse Manager on a permanent, part basis.

 

About the Role

Our service vision is to be a centre of clinical care and customer service excellence.  The service has a strong focus on customer service, and its success is reliant on effective communication and teamwork. 

 

  • Coordinate resources to meet identified needs of patients and staff,
  • Managing staff and patient flows on a shift by shift basis, both across the department and between wards
  • Supervise nursing staff,
  • Provide clinical leadership,
  • Establish and maintain a high standard of patient focused care. 
  • Contribute to the department’s risk minimisation activities and service activities,
  • Foster a quality improvement culture.
  • Role model and provide staff with clinical educational support.

 

About You

  • a current NZ APC and relevant post graduate qualifications,
  • A Senior Registered Nurse with significant experience,
  • You will bring a clear focussed vision; strive for contemporary practice, and be ‘firm, but fair,’ with the ability to inspire staff, being their advocate when needed. 
  • Proven success in nursing leadership will be complemented by your knowledge of, and experience in, clinical quality, safety, and best practice.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($112,660 p.a) and Step 3 ($123,955 p.a prorata) of the Designated Senior Nurse scale Grade 2.
