Reporting to the Charge Nurse Manager of Te Puna Wai Ora, this role fosters a culture within the unit that continues to strive for excellence in clinical services and focuses on patient centred care. 

 

Mō te tūranga | About the role

Our multi-disciplinary team provides care across the whole life spectrum including,

  • Paediatric and obstetric patients,
  • Those requiring cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, and complex medical OR trauma care, including renal replacement,
  • A retrieval service utilising helicopter and fixed wing flights

 

Key accountabilities of this role include,

  • Strategic leadership,
  • Staff education,
  • Development and recruitment,
  • Along with financial management,
  • Production planning,
  • Report writing,
  • Quality and risk management.
  • Operationally, you will turn your hand to supervision, mentoring, and developing relationships through close liaison with other services both internal and external.  

 

 Mōu ake | About you

  • Current NZ APC and relevant post graduate qualifications,
  • A Senior Registered Nurse with significant Critical Care experience,
  • You will bring a clear focussed vision; strive for contemporary practice, and be ‘firm, but fair,’ with the ability to inspire staff, being their advocate when needed. 
  • Proven success in nursing leadership will be complemented by your knowledge of, and experience in, clinical quality, safety, and best practice.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($116,040 p.a) and Step 3 ($127,674 p.a prorata) of the Designated Senior Nurse scale Grade 2.
