About the role

  • Work in close collaboration with the Charge Nurse Manager to manage and provide leadership support to enable an effective and quality driven practice environment
  • Disciplines of nursing, medical, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language therapy, social work, and psychology.
  • Patients are usually aged between 16 and 65 years. On occasion, admission of older or younger patients occurs after discussion between paediatrics, care of the elderly service and our services.
  • Our aim is to deliver a service that best meets the rehabilitation needs of the individual.
  • Patients have physical disability; diagnoses may include neurological disease, traumatic brain injury, multi trauma, and some medical issues.

About you

This role would suit a Senior Registered Nurse with excellent communication skills, organisation and leadership ability.

Other essential criteria will include:

  • Recent experience at an Associate Charge Nurse level or on an Advanced Nursing development programme
  • Nursing post graduate papers or a willingness to achieve same and evidence of working at Postgraduate Diploma level
  • Strong clinical leadership skills and sound professional judgement, with a clear commitment to high quality care
  • Recent experience working on quality projects and supporting teams through change.

Salary range

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($116,040 p.a) and Step 3 ($127,674 p.a prorata) of the Designated Senior Nurse scale Grade 2.
