Anaesthetic Technician

Dunedin Hospital
•    Permanent or Fixed Term positions available with negotiable FTE
•    Relocation assistance provided

Feel like you’re in limbo? After the year that was you may feel a bit… stuck. So, if it’s time to get things moving, set your sights lower, way, way down to one of NZ’s most picturesque regions, where work-life balance is really real, and you can have your own little patch of paradise. It’s time to go low.

Right now, Southern DHB are looking to relocate enthusiastic, skilled Anaesthetic Technicians to Dunedin. Interested?

Go low for career highs

We’re after passionate, conscientious technicians who are excited by a challenge and always keen to lend a hand.

Whether you’re just starting out in your career and craving some action, or have more experience under your belt, this could be the work fit you’re looking for. You’ll launch into the challenging world of a busy paediatrics department, as well as getting all the exposure to big trauma cases that comes with being at the primary hospital in the wider region. As you rotate across various specialities, you’ll get plenty of variety, so you’ll learn fast and rarely be bored. Plus, with a brand-new hospital in the works, before you know it, we’ll be in facilities as top-of-the-line as the equipment we use!

The day to day down here

As an experienced AT, you know the drill. Working alongside our Anaesthetists, as well as doctors and nurses, you’ll assist with surgeries, and the odd bit of Operating Theatre set up. You may even help administer blood pressure and other medications on occasion too. Working on a rotating roster basis, you’ll find shifts are usually around 8-10 hours, so along with a stable full-time work structure you’ll have plenty of room to get out amongst the vibrant, buzzing culture of the South’s best little big city!

Down where things are looking up

If you’re looking for a refreshing pace change, you’ll find it in more than just your workday. Down here in Dunedin, you can dial back the hustle and bustle of big smoke life a tad. Embrace all the fun of a University city where there’s always lots on, while ditching traffic queues and skyrocketing living costs. And whether you’re a thrill seeker looking to spend your days off hiking, fishing or hitting the slopes, or you’re more interested in the serenity of hundreds of km’s of wide-open space, it’s all just outside of city limits. You’ve seen the Otago dream in the postcards, the movies, the ads – now make it your own backyard.

So how low can you go? If it’s an exciting move you crave, let’s talk – there’s never been a better time to look down.

Closing Date: Open
