About the Role
Lakes District Hospital is a busy facility, with an emergency department, general ward, radiology, maternity and outpatient departments.
Located in the hub of clinical administration, this busy and varied role will often challenge your organisational skills with competing deadlines and conflicting priorities.
As part of our team, you will be carrying out a wide range of administrative and reception duties and providing essential support to keep the hospital functioning effectively, including but are not limited to:
- Management of patient records for the emergency department and general ward
- Processing of ACC forms and other documentation
- Providing effective reception services – answering incoming calls, welcoming visitors to the Service
- Supporting the wider service with administration tasks
About the Team/Service/ Location
This position is at the Lakes District Hospital in Frankton. The position involves varied tasks including dealing with medical professionals and patients. It can be extremely busy at times so being able to manage your workload is essential. The admin team is very friendly, close knit and supportive.
About you
As part of the administration team you will form part of the front line so your friendly, welcoming, resilient nature will be appreciated. You’ll be a positive communicator – both written and verbal and be competent in MS Office Suite. Experience using database systems and/or the ability to quickly pick these up is essential as you’ll be working with these on a daily basis. A background in medical administration would be ideal but not essential.

- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the PSA South Island Clerical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the National Health Administration Workers Pay Scale, Band 4A between Step 1 $70,970 to Step 3 $73,941 pro rata dependant on relevant experience.
