About the Role
Teaching and training are important to us here in Dunedin and that is why our RMOs have a protected session every week. Several other regular activities that House Officers can join whether it is the regular House Officer Education sessions or the journal clubs, X-ray meetings or rounds from the various services. There is always something happening!
Depending on your interest, we have several runs available for you to work in. These include:

While the above runs are available each quarter, O&G and Paediatrics are 6 month runs. If your interest lies in these specialties, please indicate your preferences in your cover letter. If we don’t hear from you, we will assume you are applying for a general role.
Note that 6 months runs will occur January to July and July to January. All internal applicants, please also contact the RMO Unit directly.

About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council’s website at MCNZ
- A minimum of 1 year post qualification experience
It is requirement of the Medical Council of New Zealand that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand, it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion.
