About the Role
Be part of a friendly and supportive team of 37 Consultants which includes 3 Provisional Fellow roles, 15 Registrars and 1 SHO who get to see it all, with exposure to a wide range of cases, including:
- Cardiac Surgery
- General Surgery
- Neurosurgery
- ENT and head and neck cancers
- Hepato-Biliary surgery
- Paediatric surgery
- Vascular surgery
- Acute Pain sessions
- Persistent Pain Clinics
- Urology
- Obstetrics
- Scoliosis surgery
- Anaesthetic Pre-assessment Service
- Orthopaedics
- Plastic Surgery
- Gynaecological Surgery
This role belongs to the New Zealand Resident Doctors’ Association and Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand) Collective Agreement and Specialty Trainees of New Zealand (STONZ) and Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand) Collective Agreement

About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council’s website at www.mcnz.org.nz
- A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience and a minimum of 6 months’ experience in Anaesthesia. Some obstetric anaesthesia experience is also preferable.
It is requirement of the Medical Council NZ that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand, it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion.
