  • Salary between $80,360 and $88,168 pa pro rata depending on experience
  • Code using ICD 10-AM 12th Edition

About the Role

Our talented team of clinical coders deliver accurate, thorough information for the health of our region.

You will be responsible for identifying and translating inpatient medical procedures, interventions and diagnoses into code using various systems such as ICD 10-AM 12th Edition (and any subsequent editions), the Australian Coding Standards (ACS) and the Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI).

The role is a full-time opportunity working Monday - Friday, based at Dunedin Hospital or remote work is a possibility for experienced Clinical Coders trained in NZ (or Australian) Clinical Coding who meet the necessary requirements (computer, internet, workstation, confidentiality and health and safety) for remote Clinical Coding work.

About you

The successful applicant will have coded in ICD-10-AM 12th Edition and currently be at Level 2 or above in the New Zealand Clinical Coding Framework, having obtained the necessary qualifications, competencies and measurements targets.  

To be successful in this role, you will also need to demonstrate the following:

  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • High standard of accuracy whilst working with complex information
  • Be able to work well within a team
  • Have excellent comprehension and organisational skills
  • Be motivated and reliable
  • Prior administrative experience and/or research skills is desirable bit not essential
