Social Worker/Occupational Therapist – CAFS (Child, Adolescent and Family)

Salary Band – $70,000 - $100,000 p.a. pro-rata + Kiwisaver


  • Permanent 0.7 FTE (28 hours per week) opportunity


Mō te tūranga | About the role


  • The position will have you working as a case manager providing assessment, treatment and coordination.
  • Apply evidenced based and best practice principles to underpin social work.
  • Undertake appropriate Mental Health assessments (including psychosocial and risk assessments) of the consumers and their family’s needs and situation.
  • Exhibit effective assessment and counselling skills and be clinically competent.
  • Understands the impact of family harm upon consumers and their family especially children and to work to reduce the risk of further harm.
  • Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and liaise appropriately with relevant health care professionals, managers, and organisations.

  • Empathetic with patients and their families/whanau.
  • Be able to work autonomously as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
  • To be considered for this position you must have relevant mental health experience, experience in working with young people experiencing mental health issues, hold current registration and an annual practising certificate as an Allied Health Professional (Social Worker, Occupational Therapist).
  • Have commitment to maintain social work standards and ethics.
  • Hold a current APC and Registration with the Social Workers Board of New Zealand.


The successful applicant must hold a full and clean NZ driver’s license.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($70,842 p.a) and Step 8 ($103,000 p.a pro rata) of the Degree-Based Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
