About the Team

North Community Mental Health Team provide assessment, support and treatment for people experiencing moderate to severe mental illness. The geographic area serviced by the Team includes Mosgiel, Middlemarch, Palmerston and Dunedin city from the Octagon northwards. The multi-disciplinary Team is made up of 33 individual staff, is based on the Dunedin Hospital campus and provides Outpatient services and home based outreach services.

As part of the administration team, you will form part of the front line for the service so your friendly, welcoming, resilient nature will be appreciated. Some people find this kind of role challenging – but not you. You thrive on the pace and the challenge. Your exceptional computer, oral and written communication skills along with your ability to prioritise and work through a high volume of demands, competing deadlines and interruptions will make you successful in this position.

 

To enjoy the Secretary position you’ll be the kind of person who likes a varied work environment. You need to be patient-focussed as you will be dealing with many enquiries from the public.

 

Our ideal candidate will have at least 4 years clerical administration experience and confident knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

The salary for this position is in accordance with the DHBs/PSA South Island Administrative Employees Collective Agreement (taking into account the PSA Clerical and Administrative Staff Pay Equity Interim Adjustment, made by Southern DHB on 16 April 2021) and is s4 and between $52,080 and $58,194 depending on skills and experience.
