Te Punaka Oraka: Public Health Nursing provides Child & Youth, Well Health Services within the community context including schools, preschools, and youth clinics, before school checks and home visiting rural sexual health and contraceptive clinics, and immunisation programs.  This is a great opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Invercargill team.

This role is youth health-focused, working primarily in high schools and alternative education providers. We are looking for a truly amazing NZ Registered Nurse with relevant clinical leadership skills, a background and an interest and passion for well health in youth and their whānau, to join this team.


Experience and understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi / Māori health equity and disparities are essential, as will be your highly developed communication skills with the ability and passion to work with a diverse range of children young people and their family’s whānau.


You will be open minded, quality driven, and can work both independently while being a valued member of a supportive, friendly team. It goes without saying that you will be computer literate and have a full clean driver’s license. It will be a strong advantage if you have experience in Well Child / Youth / Whanau Ora health / Mental Health / Immunisation / Sexual Health.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls on the Community Nursing Scale between the step 2 ($64,291 p.a pro rata) and Step 8 ($88,757 p.a prorata)
