Mō te tūranga | About the role

An exciting vacancy has come up in the Ophthalmology Outpatients Department for a Registered Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis. Whether you are looking to diversify your existing portfolio or take on a new career challenge, this is an opportunity to showcase and develop your nursing skills while contributing to the provision of top level care at Dunedin Hospital.  The clinic operates predominately on a Monday to Sunday from 7.00am until 7.00pm on a rostered basis. 

 

The Department offers a highly varied workload and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. Enthusiastic nurses with a “can do”’ positive attitude who enjoy the challenge of a working in a busy but rewarding environment and who can demonstrate adherence to high nursing practice standards will thrive.

 

In time, we would expect you to be trained in advanced nursing skills, such as Intravitreal Injections, or dedicated nursing clinics – once we have supported you through comprehensive training of course!

You are a Registered Nurse with a patient focused approach, excellent nursing assessment skills and the desire to expand your practice. You will possess strong organisation skills, flexibility and the ability to demonstrate exceptional initiative. Experience in Ophthalmology would be ideal, but we are happy to consider any applicants with the drive to contribute to the team and help our patients get the right care.
