Southland Hospital’s Medical Ward is a 38 bed ward that meets the needs of patients presenting with a full range of acute medical conditions. 

 

Capability development is a high priority for us – there is ample opportunity for professional development. Further, learning opportunities present themselves on the ward every day, proactive and engaged learners wanting to take full advantage of the opportunities in the environment will have plenty of opportunities to enhance their repertoire of skills. Our team is dedicated, professional and on hand to provide you with mentorship and support.

You will succeed in our team if you are a registered nurse who is organised, calm, and resilient, open to change, and an excellent communicator.  You will also be genuinely interested in the best outcome for both the patient and the team.

  • A current New Zealand Registration and APC.
  • Excellent assessment skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to quickly develop a rapport with patients and their whanau/family.

Utu whānui | Salary range

This role belongs to the DHB/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 2 ($72,061 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 7 ($95,340 p.a. pro-rata) Registered Nurses Salary Scale
