Here at the Te Whatu Ora Southern we take pride in providing the best possible service to our patients and their family/whanau. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Perioperative Department based at Southland Hospital for an experienced Registered Nurse, with an interest in endoscopy, to join our dedicated team.  Some surgical nursing experience is required but specialist training can be given and this is a great opportunity if you have an interest in this area to develop your skills and step into this space.


The role involves some rostered on-call duties.

Mōu ake | About you

Our team is focused on patient centred care, so your kind nature and ability to adapt to rapidly changing clinical situations will ensure the patient journey is a smooth one. Recent surgical or perioperative experience, sound clinical skills and an interest in endoscopy are essential.


To succeed in the role you will need to bring the following skills and experience:

  • Be a Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate through the Nursing Council of New Zealand and have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
  • Have at least one years’ post-graduate nursing experience in New Zealand.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and instil confidence in others.

Utu whānui | Salary range

This role belongs to the DHB/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 2 ($64,291 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 7 ($83,186 p.a. pro-rata)
