Mō te tūranga | About the role

Within the Core Midwifery environment no two days will be the same and you’ll be involved in the full scope of midwifery practice during your time here. We have a women-centered approach to our care and you will be making a real difference to the patient experience. This core midwife role would suit a Registered Midwife who is team-focused and who enjoys getting involved in a variety of tasks to ensure the very best care is provided at all times.

 

Mōu ake | About you

To succeed in this role you will need to:

  • Be a Registered Midwife
  • Hold a current annual practicing certificate
  • Have excellent communication and the ability to easily build rapport with people from all walks of life
  • Be passionate about midwifery and have a real desire to provide the best care possible

Not only do we get to care for fabulous women and families from all across our diverse region, we also get to work alongside kind, compassionate, dedicated midwives and other health professionals to provide a safe and positive birthing experience. 

Each year we birth around 1,800 babies and work closely with the midwifery and medical schools to give the kind of care our patients deserve.

 

Te Whatu Ora Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. We take pride in all the services we provide, and our aim is to improve, promote and protect the health of our region. Utu whānui |Salary range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired DHBs / MERAS Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the Midwives' Pay Equity Claim Memorandum of Understanding interim payment rates, Registered Midwives Salary Scale, between Step 2 and Step 7, $72,952 to $96,519 per annum, pro rata.
