Dunedin or Invercargill based

  • Exciting NEW position - make your mark!
  • Fixed term vacancy (until 31/3/2022)
  • Full time 1.0FTE opportunity (40 hrs per week)

About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager on a full-time, fixed-term basis to lead on this exciting new project!  Reporting to the General Manager – Medicine, Women and Children, you will need to hit the ground running. Your main focus will be on leading the development, maintenance, and implementation of Telehealth in our hospital services in Southern DHB.   You will also promote the use of this tool for our population, and work with hospital services to ensure the benefits are known, how the technology can be utilised, and to lead and support them through the implementation process. You will also look to develop community and rural hubs for patients to ensure that Telehealth facilities are available for all of our population, and to ensure that Telehealth is a tool that reduces inequity.

All staff are required to travel within the Southern region from time to time, but we are flexible in primarily appointing to this role in either Dunedin or Invercargill.

Our ideal candidate?

This service, and health in general, is an extremely dynamic arena to operate in.  With professional credibility as a leader and a reputation for getting things done, we are looking for someone with tenacity, excellent attention to detail and resilience who can get on and deliver within agreed timelines and parameters.  You are a natural problem solver who will build key professional relationships quickly and be able to identify potential blockages and trouble shoot on the fly without too much supervision.  You don’t tend to give up at the first hurdle, and your ability to take people along with you has been proven time and time again.

Ideally, experience in the health sector would be preferred but is not essential for a candidate with the key skills we are looking for.  We face a unique set of challenges in an ever-changing environment, and the experience and ability to work together and build effective relationships with teams of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals will set you apart as a strong applicant.
