We are seeking a highly motivated pharmacist to join our friendly team in Dunedin Hospital on a full-time permanent basis.


Mō te tūranga | About the role

The Dunedin Hospital Pharmacy service provides a full clinical and operational service to Dunedin Hospital, and we have a full Aseptic Production Unit. We provide a wide range of clinical services encompassing both generalist and specialist skills and are looking for someone to provide a service where their skills allow (be it in the dispensary, or clinically).   In this environment you will be encouraged to have a go at everything, which will both challenge and extend your clinical experience and skills.


Mōu ake | About you

Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred but not absolutely essential as we may be able to offer full orientation to hospital pharmacy practice for the right candidate. You must however be registered or eligible to register as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand under the provisions of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, with the right to work in New Zealand.

We are looking for someone who is a natural working with and as part of a team, someone who has excellent time management skills and a very high standard of ethical and professional practice. You will be a great communicator in both verbal and written language adapting to the needs of the audience. A calm, mature approach is also essential as is having the ability to adapt to an ever-changing health environment.


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Hospital experience is preferred so you can hit the ground running
  • Registered as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand under the provisions of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003
  • The right to work in New Zealand

Utu whānui | Salary range

This role belongs to the APEX / SDHB SECA and falls between the Step 3 ($62,671 p.a) and Step 9 ($82,299 p.a prorata)
