About the Queen Mary Maternity Team

We consider ourselves to be very fortunate here at the Queen Mary Maternity Unit. Not only do we get to care for fabulous women and families from all across our diverse region, we also get to work alongside kind, compassionate, dedicated health professionals to provide a safe and positive birthing experience. 

 

Each year we birth around 1,800 babies and work closely with the midwifery and medical schools to give the kind of care our patients deserve.

 

About the Role

You will be providing support to postnatal mothers and their babies at a crucial time, within Queen Mary Maternity Unit and our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Your skills as a Lactation Consultant will be utilised to assist and assess a range of breast feeding related issues and ensure the wellbeing and nutritional needs of our newborn babies.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to:

  • be an International board certified Lactation consultant and also hold a Nursing or Midwifery APC
  • Have excellent communication and the ability to build rapport easily with people from all walks of life
  • Be passionate about providing lactation support and have a real desire to provide the best care possible
