About the Role – what’s in it for me?

Reporting to the Security Service Manager, your role will be primarily based at the main Dunedin Hospital but will also include shifts at Wakari Hospital. No two shifts in this role will be the same - you’ll need to think on your feet and remain calm under pressure. This is a 24/7 service so you will need to be available to work unsociable hours on a regular basis.


As part of our busy security team you will be involved in a number of different duties such as:

  • routine patrols
  • report writing
  • welfare checks
  • managing upset and potentially aggressive people
  • ensuring the overall security of our buildings

Our Security Officers work on a rostered basis 7 days a week, so you will need to have the flexibility to cover a variety of shifts. 


About You

As a conscientious and trustworthy individual, you will remain calm in stressful situations, and enjoy interacting with the public. You will need to have an approachable manner and excellent communication skills.


Please note that you must have a clean current full driver licence to be considered for this role.
