Health Care Assistant – District Nursing


Salary Band – $46,000 - $53,800 p.a. pro-rata + Kiwisaver

This position is to join the evening service (rostered duties 6 – 10pm).


Mō te tūranga | About the role

As Health Care Assistant you will be involved in:


  • Supporting our District Nurses – assisting with patient care under supervision
  • Stock reconciliation
  • Clerical duties and other general duties as required to assist with the smooth running of the department

We are seeking applications from those with previous health care experience, and from those who are dynamic, friendly and can demonstrate a high level of initiative. You will be committed to high standards of practice, be well organised and have excellent communication skills.


It is important that candidates are motivated, flexible, have a level of maturity about them and of course plenty of enthusiasm. Experience working with people in a caring capacity is also essential, whether than experience is gained from within a professional environment, or from caring for children or family members.  Our induction includes a two day training programme to ensure you are fully equipped to under the role as a valuable part of the team.

Utu whānui | Salary range

This role belongs to the DHB/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($46,182 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 5 ($53,803 p.a. pro-rata)
