Southland Hospital

  • Permanent opportunity
  • Part-time (20 hours per week), flexible

Are you a Pharmacist currently working part-time and looking for more hours? Or perhaps you’d just like a change of scene, with some new challenges. You must be an assertive professional with an inquiring mind who is able to take a proactive approach to work, ensuring your own clinical practice leads by example. As a motivated professional with excellent time management you’ll enjoy working with people of a like mind towards a common goal. You’ll have a clear focus on pharmacy practice (both operational and clinical) to enable the ongoing and successful support of MedChart. You will be a link between the hospital clinical teams and the information technology team so being clinically connected to our wide variety of users to understand their needs is important.  Flexibility is important in managing your workload in conjunction with the other MedChart team members to ensure training needs of users across all sites are covered.

About you

We are looking for a registered Pharmacist with 3+ years clinical experience who is a natural working with and as part of a team, someone who has excellent time management skills and a very high standard of ethical and professional practice. You will be a great communicator in both verbal and written language adapting to the needs of the audience. A calm, mature approach is also essential as is having the ability to adapt to an ever-changing health environment.

Relevant clinical experience is a high priority for this position, and on our wish list the successful applicant would also hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent) or a Health Informatics qualification.  Interest in and understanding of the use of different technologies is an advantage but support and training will be provided to the right candidate.  Some travel throughout the DHB may be necessary at times.

This is a part-time permanent position requiring the successful applicant to be flexible with their hours, and in particular when meeting the needs of training staff on shifts. On-call may be a requirement of this position in which a flexible time in lieu system will operate as opposed to a call back system.
