We currently have several roles available as we increase our capacity to care for our patients in the Southern Blood & Cancer Service (SBCS) for the Southern region of New Zealand.

 

Here you will contribute to the provision of safe best practice but cost effective clinical services to patients referred to our service, working alongside our experienced team of of 6 Haematologists and 6 Medical Oncologists. Our MDT consists of Medical Physicists, Technicians, Radiation Therapists and Nurses.

 

We operate three Linear Accelerators, including two Elekta HD Versa and a Varian TrueBeam, a Monaco treatment planning system and Mosaiq oncology patient management system and Siemens CT scanner. SBCS delivers body stereotactic treatment for lung and spine in addition to providing the national cranial stereotactic service. Our Service provides regional care and covers the lower South Island so you will have the opportunity to participate in outreach clinics.

 

As a Consultant Radiation Oncologist, you will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team.  Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to this position. You will have a proven ability to lead development of clinical techniques and innovations.   If you have experience in breast, prostate or head & neck treatments we would love to hear from you.

It is an essential requirement of the position that you will have a Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Radiologists or an equivalent qualification, enabling specialist (vocational) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
