Mōu ake | About you
As an advanced training centre we currently have four Registrars and a full team of Physicists and Radiation Therapists.  We have three linear accelerators and are planning to add a fourth. Recently we have commissioned Brainlab to complement our existing Monaco planning system.  This enables us to provide the NZ National Stereotactic service and develop new and innovative techniques.

As a service we deliver 1500 courses per year to a wide range of indications and are supported by tertiary specialities including Medical Oncology, Haematology, Palliative Care and Surgery. We have a strong community focus providing outreach treatment and outpatient services across the region; meaning you get to enjoy a scenic flight over picturesque mountains to attend some of your clinics, so you can reach your patients.

We have an established research group and are involved in both radiation and systemic therapy trials. We have close links to Otago University and are one of just two teaching hospitals in New Zealand. There will be time set aside in your week to teach as well as expand and refine your skill set.

For this role, you must either be registered (or eligible) with the Medical Council of New Zealand and have a specialist qualification in Radiation Oncology that is recognised by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists as suitable for Vocational Registration in New Zealand. We also welcome applications from Advanced Trainees who are about to complete their final six months of training as a fellow with supervision.
